Sending love and gentle hugs to you
If you have had a miscarriage, stillbirth, experienced infant death (sids) or suffered an unfavorable outcome with an ultrasound, I am here for you. If you are pregnant and found out that your little light has died and you need extra support, I am here for you. The skills a doula has in providing emotional and physical support, facilitating informed choice conversations, and often offering an alternative perspective to common medically-managed options are exactly the same whether they are being used for a birth, a miscarriage or loss, or in fertility.
Miscarriage, is a transition that deserves thoughtful support. As a miscarriage doula, I am trained to provide emotional, mental, physical, and informational support during and after miscarriage (including those that require medical care like surgery or medication). There are no right or wrong feelings about having a miscarriage, but people may want to have a supportive, knowledgeable, and non-judgmental person to talk through things with, before, during and after the experience – someone who is solely there to hear, see, and hold space, with no other agenda.
Services are highly individualized to the person having the experience, but can look like:
- Information about medical miscarriage management, interventions, and choices
- Help with planning and education resources
- Support as you advocate for your needs and wishes
- Help communicating with medical providers, family, friends, and other support people
- Comfort measures and pain management techniques
- Suggestions and guidance for emotional self-care
- Suggestions and guidance for physical self-care, including herbal support
- Listening and processing
- Compassionate witnessing
- Support and education post-miscarriage
- Legacy Creations
FOR A SPECIAL GOODBYE
Families have unique needs when experiencing the loss of a pregnancy, a termination, a still birth or the death of a baby or child.
Most hospitals and some funeral directors will arrange a simple funeral for no charge, but for families looking for something else, for whatever reason, we’re able to offer the opportunity to create something really thoughtful, special and meaningful.
Encouraging you to participate as much or as little as you wish, we offer a specialist service that can help you to create the funeral you want and need to acknowledge the nature of your loss.
Supported by infant and pregnancy loss, home funeral and celebrancy offerings, I can offer you as much guidance as you need, and give you the time you need to explore the options open to you. I will help guide you to spend time with your child or baby in a home-like, peaceful and beautiful space. I can even help you to take them home, if that’s important to you.
